MEMBER OF THE MONTH – MARCH 2023

LaJoy Montgomery – March 2023 Member of the Month

LaJoy Montgomery’s favorite things about Junior League of Little Rock are its approach to training through service work and the diverse, inclusive community of women it creates. “Simply meeting the needs of the community is not enough; training those who will respond to those needs creates a never-ending ripple of impact,” she says. Her favorite placement within the League so far has been Admissions & New Member Training, where she enjoyed being the first point of contact for new members and guiding them through their first years in the League.

In her work life, LaJoy is a Regional Early Childhood Manager with the Office of Head Start, and she is drawn to volunteer work that aligns with her passion for creating a better world for children and families. She is also involved with The National Association of University Women, Sister Friends United, and The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund.

When she’s not volunteering her time or conducting research for her doctoral program, LaJoy  finds time to explore Arkansas through its hiking trails, various restaurants, and local comedy scene. “Laughter is the heart’s best medicine,” she says, “so I am always looking for a good comedy show.”
