Holiday House 2010

LITTLE ROCK, AR - There are 52 shopping days left until Christmas, and the one-stop shopping hub that draws people from all over the state is back. The Junior League of Little Rock is hosting the 20th annual “Holiday House” at the state convention center.

It’s the shopping event of the season and it only lasts three days. With Holiday House, the Junior League opens the doors to hundreds of merchants from all over the country. It is the major fundraiser for the Junior League of Little Rock and all the proceeds help fund community projects.

Wednesday night was the preview party featuring a first glance at shopping, live music, silent and live auctions, and raffle prizes. Shoppers say visiting Holiday House has become a season tradition that can’t be missed.

"Christmas to me doesn't start until after Thanksgiving, but this is the Christmas event of the season that starts the fun," says shopper Laura Smith.

Holiday House has everything from clothes, to toys, to Christmas decorations, to jewelry, but is not all about the merchandise. Even if you don’t buy a single Christmas gift, you’re still helping the Junior League give back to the community.

“The great thing about Holiday House is you get to come and have a great time with your friends while shopping and you're also helping the community at the same time," said Tonya Franzetti, Holiday House chair.

The Junior League hopes to raise $300,000 this year for community projects.

General shopping hours are Thursday, November 4th from noon to 9pm. Friday, November 5th from 9am to 9pm. Saturday, November 6th from 9am to 6pm. Admission is $7, or $15 for a 3-day pass.

On Thursday, November 4th from 9am to noon is private shopping. For $25, visitors get brunch & coffee while they shop.
