About Us

Women building better communities. That's the Junior League.

The Junior League has been the driving force behind the kinds of initiatives and institutions that make our community a healthier, more vital place to live.

Junior League members, reflecting a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and professional pursuits work together to identify unmet needs, forge effective coalitions, and work for change. Time and time again, the Junior League is among the first organizations to step up to the plate and tackle a community's biggest challenges.

Financial Philosophy

The Junior League of Little Rock, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. To further this purpose, the League raises money in the community to support its volunteer placements and projects. The primary purpose of the League is not that of a fund-raising organization; and as an organization, it should not act as a fund-raising agent for others. The League is obligated to dispense all money raised from the community in accordance with the League's charter purpose.

The League considers an ideal project one which recognizes the following: financial involvement, board representation, quality volunteer opportunities, and a termination date for League involvement. Financial support and projects are not automatically continued, but are reviewed annually by the appropriate committee to assure continued interest, quality placement and financial soundness.

The League has instituted the Contingency Fund to address emergency needs of local non-profit agencies. The Junior League of Little Rock, Inc. makes no other donations. The League must limit itself financially to those activities with which it aligns itself as a group.
