Message from the Board of Directors

Board of Directors

Welcome to the Junior League of Little Rock website.  In our 89th year of commitment to our community, we are focused on continuing our legacy of civic leadership development and service.  Our members share the vision of “Women Building Better Communities.”

At the heart of our mission is the desire to develop the potential of women and improve the community around us, through the effective leadership development of passionate and committed volunteers. The Junior League of Little Rock remains true to the purpose of being exclusively educational and charitable as well as reaching out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to civic voluntarism.

As an organization, the Junior League of Little Rock provides our members with enriching volunteer opportunities.  More than 1,200 women contribute their time, talent and energy to learn more about the issues affecting the Little Rock community.  In doing so they not only create an impact on the lives of women and children, but also gain the knowledge and resources needed to be well-informed, skilled civic leaders within our community.

As a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), the Junior League of Little Rock is one of 300 Leagues representing 170,000 women across the country and around the world.  Through comprehensive resources and member benefits, AJLI adds value to our League in fulfillment of the Junior League mission.  Because each League focuses on targeted programming specific to its community, Junior Leagues can be credited with implementing changes and improving conditions in almost every sector of society.

In addition to its members, the Junior League of Little Rock is supported by generous donors, corporations, nonprofit organizations, community partners and friends who help us in building a better community.  We encourage you to support the many organizations and businesses that facilitate the work of the Junior League of Little Rock.

During your visit to our website, you can learn more about our organization’s community programs, fundraising events, sponsorship opportunities, and award-winning cookbooks.  We are honored to serve as the Board of an organization that is committed to women’s leadership, promoting voluntarism and improving the community.

Our goals for the coming year take advantage of our members’ unique role and unprecedented opportunities to create a greater impact.  By providing an environment where women can learn about community issues while developing their skills to lead, we can build a better community for all of us.  And that’s what the 2010-2011 year is about…to Learn It and Lead!
